As President of  Safe Haven Advocate Pet Care & Photography, LLC, I would like to personally
thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Safe Haven Advocate Family!

I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet(s) with strangers at a pet hotel or kennel facility, unsure of the level of care, confinement, and amount of attention your pet will actually be receiving while you are away.

I strongly believe that it is best to keep pets in an environment where they are familiar, comfortable and feel safe - Their "Safe Haven." The goal is to take as much anxiety away from pets as possible when their owners are away. Therefore, we come to you. It is so important to have someone who can truly CARE for your pet as opposed to someone who just boards/watches them as they do at many Pet Hotels/ Kennels. Our one of a kind staff have the training, knowledge and compassion to make you feel more at ease than ever before.

Whether your furry friend is in good health or in need of daily medication and some extra special TLC, young or old, big or small, active or a couch potato,We are here to help and would love to hear from you! We understand that your critters are your loyal and devoted friends and family members. Animals are our heartstrings, and we go above and beyond to treat each and every one as if they are our own.

We look forward to hearing from you and exceeding your expectations as your future pet care providers!

BONDED & INSURED

Allow your furry babies to nest in the safe haven of their own homes instead of trying to find comfort on a concrete floor,
in hopes that a stranger will open the kennel door to throw them a bone or take them out into a small enclosure to "play" or go "potty." Pets were not meant to live in a boxy room or a cage, they were meant to snuggle and play from day to day!

A Little Bit About The Owner:

Carrie is a certified professional pet care provider, who has worked within the Veterinary field since 2006 and is currently a relief technician at an Emergency Veterinary facility in the area. She also attended schooling to become an Illinois and Nationally licensed Emergency Medical Technician with a collegiate certificate in Paramedicine. Carrie has worked with dogs, cats, horses, small mammals, and exotics of many breeds and behaviors. She is experienced and very comfortable administering medications; whether it be orally or via injection, as well as subcutaneous fluid administration. Carrie also has experience with puppy obedience and socialization instruction.

She is blessed to have three rescue pups of her own; Ruby Lynn, Shelby Lee & Rainey Mae, who are HER WORLD:

Three year old Ruby AKA "Roo Bear" (pictured with Carrie above) was rescued after being attacked by two large breed dogs, resulting in multiple fractures to her right front leg. "This has given me the personal experience and understanding in the needs of injured pets that require in-home rehabilitation and most importantly, patience."

Two -"ish" year old Shelby AKA "LiL Bean" was rescued as a stray who was suspected as being abused and dumped on the street with her "brother" after having a litter of puppies at only a year (?) of age. "She is my little miracle pup who has definitely challenged me. She has also provided me with the personal experience of working / living with a pet with severe separation anxiety."

Approximately five year old Rainey Mae aka "Small fry" was found by Carrie, as a stray, who had been dumped in the forest in the freezing cold after recently having puppies. She was emaciated with toenails growing into her sweet little paw pads. When she found her, she was so hungry that she was attempting to eat bark off of a tree trunk. "Although having another pup was not in the immediate plan for me, she has certainly been an unexpected blessing, and is the sweetest chihuahua mix that I have ever known!"

When Carrie is not working within her pet care business, working at the ER, or spending time with her family, She is seeking out ways to help rescue animals in need. She loves volunteering her time working alongside animal rescues/ shelters in the area to find animals good homes and the medical attention that they deserve, to make them happy and healthy! (Please utilize the links below if you too, would like to be involved in helping animals in need)

Carrie absolutely LOVES animal photography and being able to capture an animal's personality on film. Every pet deserves to be a celebrity, therefore She is constantly taking pictures of her clients (and with the owners permission) sharing them on this website and social media for all to enjoy.  :-)  She also donates much her free time photographing rescue animals to help get them adopted, as well as holding photography photoshoot events, where a percentage of the proceeds go towards specific rescues in need. (These events are posted under the "Photogaphy Events" section of this site.)

In the future, Carrie aspires to open her very own Pet Photography studio. For now, She travels to onsite locations for Owners and their pet photography needs.
